-It's pure Americana, Uncle Sam and Squire Frederick pictured together. And it's for a good cause to boot. Uncle Sam (Dave Woodmansee) and The Squire participated in the organizations' Leadership Summit and Lobby Day last year. The photo appears in the 2007 Advocacy Accomplishments Report of the American Cancer Society and ACS CAN. Squire Frederick has volunteered for past Society events as well, including "Celebration on the Hill 2006."

-The town criers of tomorrow gathered in Annapolis on Saturday, April 12 for Watermark's Junior Town Crier Competition. Congratulations to winners William Crum (Elementary School Level), Kylie Doherty (Middle School Level), and Christian Hartman (High School Level) who will help Squire Frederick host the North American Town Criers Championship in May. See video of the winners at Hometown Annapolis!

-The Squire was in familar costumed company as he proclaimed the start of the 34th Annual Running of the Marlborough Hunt Races: "Roedown is reviving the Annapolis Subscription Plate, the first recorded formal horse race in Maryland. To commemorate the 1743 challenge race, visitors to Roedown are encouraged to wear colonial costume and incorporate this theme in their tailgate parties."

-One of The Squire's "cries" opened the show on "Maryland Living" on Sunday, March 23. Maryland Living appears in Baltimore on WMAR, Channel 2.

-Even Town Criers catch March Madness. Squire Frederick was courtside on Saturday, March 15, doing the public address announcing for the UMBC Retrievers' men's basketball team as they clinched an NCAA bid by winning the America East conference tournament.
